Rabat – A new weather alert has announced more snowfall, heavy rainfall, and strong winds from Tuesday to Thursday in several provinces across Morocco.
The General Directorate of Meteorology issued a red-level weather alert, with snowfall ranging from 50 to 80 centimeters. This weather will affect the provinces of Al Haouz, Ouarzazate, Khenfira, Midelt, and Azilal from Tuesday morning until Wednesday at 12 p.m.
Snowfall of 25 to 50 centimeters at about 1,400 meters will affect the provinces of Ifrane, Chichaoua, Beni Mellal, Taroudant, Tinghir, Al Haouz, Ouarzazate, Khenifra, and Midelt from Tuesday morning until Wednesday at 12 p.m.
And snowfall ranging between 10 and 25 centimeters is expected to affect Sefrou, Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen, Guercif, Taza, and Boulemane.
Thundery rainfall as well as hail are expected on Tuesday until 11 p.m. The rainfall is set to range between 40 and 50 millimeters in the provinces of Azilal, Chefchaouen, Ouezzane, and Al Haouz.
In addition, rainfall between 30 and 49 millimeters will affect Tangier-Assilah, Mohammedia, Nouaceur, Rabat, Youssoufia, Beni Mellal, Fquih Ben Salah, Meknes, El Hajeb, and Ifrane.
The same weather will affect Fez, Sefrou, Moulay Yacoub, Taounate, Fahs-Anjra, Larache, Tetouan, M’Ddiq-Fnideq, Lekaa Sraghna, and Marrakech.
And similarly, heavy rainfall will also affect Kenitra, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Chichaoua, Rehamna, Casablanca, Mediouna, Sidi Bennour, Sale, Skhirat-Temara, El Jadida, and Safi.
From Tuesday to Wednesday, at 9 a.m., rainfall of 35 to 45 millimeters is expected in the provinces of Benslimane, Khouribga, Settat, Berrchid, and Khemsset.
Rainfall between 35 and 50 millimeters will concern the provinces of Taza, Berkane, Driouch, Nador, Oujda-Angad, Jerada, Taourirt, Al Hociema, and Guercif from Wednesday 12 p.m. to Thursday 9 a.m.
Strong wind is also part of the weather alert’s predictions. Wind of 75 and 85 kilometers per hour is expected in the provinces of Ouarzazate, Taeroudant, Zagora, Tata, Sidi Ifni, Al Haouz, Taza, Guelmim, Tiznit, Azilal, Midelt, Bouelamne, Guercif, Tinghir, and Taourirt from Tuesday to Wednesday at 6 a.m.
