Rabat – Doha has been hit by heavy rain during the Arab Cup 2025. The Saudi vs UAE match for third place at Khalifa International Stadium was delayed after the pitch became waterlogged, forcing the referee to postpone the start of the second half.Â
At Lusail Stadium, where Morocco and Jordan are set to play the final, showers and cold winds arrived less than three hours before kickoff. Organizers say the match will still go ahead at 17:00, with nearly 80,000 fans expected.
Morocco has previously encountered organizational challenges in Qatar. During the FIFA U‑17 World Cup, many Moroccan fans were left frustrated when they were prevented from returning to their seats after halftime against Brazil, despite holding valid tickets.
Also, the small 1,500‑seat venue struggled to handle the large crowds, leading to confusion and tension.
Morocco’s senior team also experienced delays earlier in the Arab Cup group stage. Their bus arrived nearly three hours late before the match against Comoros due to administrative issues with player permits.Â
The team eventually won, but the incident showed how logistical problems can affect preparation.
