Rabat – Cristiano Ronaldo, 41, is reportedly set to make his scripted television debut as both an actor and executive producer in a new football drama. A TV insider also revealed his former Arsenal rival Thierry Henry, 48, will also feature on the show, called Day 1s.
According to The Sun, the project is being developed by UR•Marv Studios, the production company co-founded by Ronaldo and British filmmaker Matthew Vaughn, best known for directing the Kingsman films. The drama explores the high-pressure world of football agents, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the deals, rivalries, and personal challenges that shape the modern game.
Vaughn, who directed Kick-Ass, formed UR•Marv earlier this year, with the mission statement of disrupting the “conventional” movie-making market.
At the time, he said: “Cristiano has created stories on the pitch that I could never have written, and I look forward to creating inspiring movies with him.”
Ronaldo also welcomed the venture, saying, “This is an exciting chapter for me, as I look ahead to new ventures in business.”
The announcement comes after a disappointing end to Ronaldo’s FIFA World Cup campaign. Portugal’s run ended in the Round of 16 with a loss to eventual champion Spain, but the 41-year-old appears to be wasting little time turning his attention toward life beyond the field.
While Ronaldo continues to play professionally for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, the reported move into scripted television underscores how his ambitions increasingly extend well beyond football. Whether through business, digital media or now Hollywood, the global superstar continues to build a brand that reaches far beyond the game that made him famous.
