Agadir – Casablanca has initiated public transportation measures for the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 (AFCON), with its tramway and busway networks receiving special branding and operational enhancements to accommodate the continental tournament.
The transport network has been decorated in AFCON 2025 colors across trams, busways, commercial agencies, and major stations. This visual transformation aligns with the city’s overall urban decoration scheme for the tournament.
Transport authorities have advised subscribers to recharge their travel cards in advance to avoid congestion at sales points and commercial agencies. Online recharging services through CasaTramway and CasaBusway websites and mobile applications remain fully operational.
The passenger information system has been significantly strengthened with several new features. These include a special AFCON network map, multilingual digital information systems, dedicated orientation materials, and limited-edition personalized travel tickets in AFCON 2025 colors.
Stations near the stadium and 13 fan zones will receive reinforcement from multilingual teams deployed to welcome, inform, and assist passengers throughout the competition. Transport services will be enhanced on match days to respond to increased demand and facilitate movement before and after games.
A special committee has been established to ensure rapid real-time intervention in case of equipment damage, accidents, or vandalism acts. All urban mobility teams are mobilized to contribute to AFCON 2025’s success.
Rabat will serve as the tournament’s primary host city, hosting both the opening match on December 21 and the final on January 18 at Moulay Abdellah Stadium.
The capital has also introduced special transport passes through its Tram Mobile app, offering various options, including 24-hour passes for 30 MAD ($3) and full tournament passes for 540 MAD ($54).
The 35th edition of AFCON will feature 24 national teams competing across six groups in 52 matches from December 21 to January 18, 2026. Nine stadiums across Morocco will host the continental competition, spanning from Tanger to Agadir through Fez, Rabat, Casablanca, and Marrakech.
Morocco will open the tournament in Group A against Comoros at Rabat’s Moulay Abdellah Stadium, with the final also scheduled at the same venue on January 18.
