Rabat – Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe could attend the Morocco vs Mali AFCON game on Friday.
The group stage game will take place at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Complex in Rabat.
Moroccan news outlet Le360 quoted reliable sources as saying that Mbappe received an invitation to attend the national team’s game.
RMC Sports reported that Dembele will also attend the AFCON clash.
Mbappe is a close friend of Morocco’s football star Achraf Hakimi. Despite Mbappe’s departure from Paris Saint-Germain, both players continue to speak highly about each other.
The French player also took to social media to admire his former teammate, describing him as the best right back.
He was also among the first football players who congratulated Hakimi for winning the African Ballon d’Or.
“I love you, brother. King of Africa. Well done, my brother, it is a more than deserved award.”
In 2023, Hakimi talked about his special ties with Mbappe, saying that the French player had helped him greatly since his debut with PSG.
“And it’s not easy, especially with his status as a global star. I’m forever grateful to him, because he helped me when I didn’t speak the language and I didn’t know anyone,” Hakimi said, stressing that this special friendship made it easier for the star players to understand each other on and off the pitch.
