Rabat – King Mohammed VI is suffering from mechanical lower back pain linked to muscle tension, according to his personal doctor, Professor Lahcen Belyamani.
The doctor confirmed that the condition is not serious and affects only the lower back area, according to Morocco’s new agency MAP.
He added that the King will follow an appropriate medical treatment and take a period of rest, as recommended.
Following the announcement, many Moroccans took to social media to pray for the King’s health and well-being, and to wish him a speedy recovery.
The King was last seen publicly last month during a private visit to a shopping mall in Dubai. At the time, the King appeared in good health and was accompanied by his aides and members of his security team, according to photos and videos shared on social media.
Many Moroccans will be waiting for updates on the monarch’s health as he continues his recovery.
