These events come amid a period of severe weather affecting Morocco for several weeks.
Recent storms have caused significant floods in the Gharb region and northern provinces, forcing the evacuation of tens of thousands of residents and putting emergency services under considerable strain.
Residents in Sidi Kacem, Ksar El Kebir, and other affected regions across Morocco were forced to evacuate their homes, leaving belongings behind as floodwaters swept through neighborhoods.
Schools in several areas were suspended, while authorities quickly set up remote learning solutions to allow students to continue their education online.
Emergency shelters accommodated displaced families, and local authorities worked to provide essential supplies amid the ongoing severe weather.
Authorities in northern Morocco have evacuated more than 150,000 people as heavy rains continue to swell rivers and flood low-lying areas.
As of Friday morning, a total of 154,309 people had been safely relocated. The largest number came from the province of Larache, where 112,695 residents were moved.
In other areas, 23,174 people were evacuated in Kenitra, 14,079 in Sidi Kacem, and 4,361 in Sidi Slimane.
Authorities have urged citizens to exercise caution and avoid nonessential travel in affected areas as the country continues to face unpredictable weather conditions.
