Rabat – Paris police arrested two more suspects today in connection with an attempted bombing outside the Paris branch of Bank of America, prosecutors said.

The move follows the extended detention of a minor apprehended Saturday over the same incident.

The attack happened around 3:30 a.m. in the city’s 8th arrondissement, a few streets from the Champs-Élysées.

Police intercepted a man just as he was about to ignite a homemade explosive device, sources familiar with the investigation reported.

Authorities said the device contained roughly five liters of liquid, believed to be fuel, and an ignition system.

France’s counter-terrorism prosecutor’s office has taken charge of the case, citing charges of attempted destruction with fire or other dangerous means linked to terrorism, as well as participation in a terrorist conspiracy.

Both the Paris judicial police and France’s domestic intelligence service, the DGSI, are conducting investigations.

According to police sources, the suspect admitted to being recruited through the Snapchat app in exchange for 600 euros ($692).

While placing the device, an accomplice reportedly stepped back to photograph or record the act on a mobile phone.

A Bank of America spokesperson, whose US headquarters are in Charlotte, North Carolina, said the company remains in contact with French authorities and is monitoring the situation closely.

France’s Interior Minister, Laurent Nunez, commended the rapid response of police officers on X, noting the importance of vigilance “given the current international situation.”
