Rabat – Barcelona’s sporting leadership continues to evaluate the best option for Marcus Rashford’s future at the club, according to Marca.

Sporting Director Anderson Luís de Souza (Deco) and coach Hansi Flick are facing a big decision on whether Barcelona should activate the €30 million option to keep Rashford permanently from Manchester United.

If the club decides against paying the fee, Barcelona will look for a different striker in the transfer market who can play well on the left wing, as Deco has already spent several weeks scouting alternative profiles  as potential replacements for Rashford.

This decision remains difficult, as it affects both the team’s performance and the club’s finances. Barcelona has to think about more than just the €30 million transfer fee. Rashford’s high salary also has a big impact on the club’s Financial Fair Play limits.

The deal is already set, and Manchester United will not lower the price. While Rashford might be willing to take a pay cut, his current terms already mean he is earning less than he did in Manchester.

The 28-year-old stayed in good form this past Saturday, scoring the second goal in a 2-0 win against Getafe. This victory was huge for Flick’s side, as it moved them 11 points clear at the top of the table.

“Marcus Rashford’s future at Barcelona is not yet 100% decided, as the club continues to evaluate what the best option is from both a sporting and economic perspective,” reporter Matteo Moretto wrote on X on Monday.

“The footballer wants to stay at Barcelona. Manchester United will not go below the price agreed upon in the summer,” Moretto added.

According to him the Catalan side are still weighing their options, and it is clear that “Hansi Flick will have some weight in the final decision”

Rashford has had a strong first season on loan with Barcelona, contributing to 25 goals so far, scoring 12 goals and providing 13 assists across all competitions.
