The 15th edition of the Morocco Historic Rally officially starts on May 9 in Casablanca, bringing together more than 60 crews from 15 countries for one of the standout historic motorsport events in the region.
Under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI, this rally is back to celebrate speed and history. It’s a unique chance to see classic cars take on Morocco’s incredible landscapes.
The official start ceremony will take place at the Automobile Club of Morocco Museum on the Bouskoura road, setting the stage for a week-long event running through May 15.
This year’s edition covers around 1500 kilometers, including around 400 kilometers of timed special stages, with a route that moves from central regions toward the south. Crews will pass through the Khatouat massif, Bin El Ouidane, Azilal, and El Borouj before heading toward coastal and southern destinations such as Essaouira, Agadir (Paradis Plage), and Sidi Ifni.

A two-act format
The 2026 rally introduces a structured format split into two main phases. The first focuses on the Middle Atlas and central Morocco, with stages around Bin El Ouidane Lake and near the Ouzoud waterfalls, along with routes through Azilal and Skhour Rhamna.
The second phase shifts to the Anti-Atlas and includes one of the rally’s most iconic sections, the “Painted Rocks” 2-stage in Tafraout, before continuing toward Sidi Ifni and Massa. A rest day is scheduled at Paradis Plage near Agadir, before the final stretch.
Among the drivers to watch are experienced names such as Jean-Pierre Manzagol, Louis Antonini, Yoann Raffaelli, Elkadaoui Youness, and Patrick Chiappe.
The rally remains reserved for historic vehicles, divided into categories by production era: pioneer models from 1947 to 1971, the “golden age“ cars from 1972 to 1985, and the J2+ category (1986–1990), limited to two-wheel drive cars with manual gearboxes.
There will be a mix between technical stages, long-distance endurance, and scenic routes
