The highly anticipated derby between Raja CA and Wydad AC, set to take place this Saturday at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca for the 20th round of the Botola Pro, will be played with several important absences on both sides.
For Raja, coach Fadlu Davids will head to the derby without his talisman Adam Ennafati, who is ruled out due to injury sustained in the previous clash against Maghreb of Fes. Medical examinations revealed a muscular injury in his right thigh, which will rule him out of action for a period ranging between 15 and 20 days. Raja will also be missing Ayoub Maamouri and Abdelkrim Baadi, both absent due to technical decisions from the coach.
On the other side, Wydad will also be missing key players ahead of the derby. Goalkeeper Abdelali Mhamdi is unavailable after picking up an injury, which has affected his lung against Olympique Safi. Brazilian defender Guilherme Ferreira is meanwhile sidelined after suffering a serious knee injury in the previous match against COD Meknes.
Despite these absences, Raja enter the derby at the top of the league table with 39 points, while Wydad sit in fourth place on 34 points, aiming to close the gap and stay in the title race.
The derby will kick off at 08:00 pm at the Mohammed V Stadium, but will be played behind closed doors. Nevertheless, the city remains fully focused on its biggest footballing night.
