Rabat – Al Barid Bank and Al Omrane Holding have announced a partnership to expand access to housing.

A joint statement from both institutions said the agreement aligns with high royal guidelines calling for “balanced, inclusive, and sustainable development.”

Through the agreement, Al Barid Bank pledges to leverage its expertise and nationwide presence to ensure “innovative and accessible financing solutions” to support Al-Omran-led projects.

The agreement also seeks to provide financial support for real estate development projects, with the two partners also committed to broadening the scope of their cooperation.

Al Barid and Al Omran also seek to organize and participate in national and international events to promote initiatives with high economic and social impact, the statement added.

Morocco has launched a direct housing assistance program benefiting 101,521 low- and middle-income beneficiaries as of May 7, the government said.

Adib Benbrahim, the Secretary of State in charge of Housing, revealed the number on Tuesday at the House of Councillors.

Benbrahim said the program received around 263,000 applications, submitted by 2140,000 citizens.

The number of eligible individuals reached 193,0000, with 60% of beneficiaries belonging to the middle class.

Women represent 47% of beneficiaries, while the share of youth under 40 stands at 52%.

Moroccans living abroad account for 24% of all beneficiaries, said the official.

The government is pledging to expand the program further, recalling measures like a digital platform that enables citizens to check their eligibility using their national ID number and obtain a document confirming their beneficiary status in less than a week.
