Rabat – Raja Casablanca are reportedly advancing in negotiations to sign Jordanian player Mohannad Abu Taha from Iraqi side Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya during the upcoming summer transfer window, as the club continues searching for players capable of strengthening the squad ahead of next season.
The move reportedly comes following recommendations from Jordan national team coach Jamal Sellami, who is said to be a strong admirer of the player’s qualities. Sellami believes the player’s profile is a perfect fit for Raja’s possession-heavy identity.
The former Raja player and coach also previously played a role in bringing Jordanian winger Mohammad Abu Zrayq, known as “Sharara,” strengthening the relationship between Raja and jordanian players even further.
According to several Jordanian reports, negotiations are progressing positively, with a shared desire from both parties to complete the deal, as his journey with Al-Quwa is coming to an end this next summer mercato.
Abu Taha is considered to be a modern left-back, with the ability to deliver both defensively and offensively.
Many Moroccan fans also got the chance to watch him closely during the Arab Cup final against Morocco’s national football team. The player delivered an impressive performance and showed his ability to limit Morocco’s danger in the third zone, while also contributing to the Jordanian attack line.
Raja, meanwhile, is set to continue to prepare for next season by looking for players who can bring immediate impact to the squad, especially with the club hoping to bounce back strongly both domestically and continentally.
