Rabat – Federico Valverde is close to returning to full training following an incident with teammate Aurélien Tchouaméni that left the midfielder with a minor head trauma and a brief hospital stay, according to Marca.
During Friday’s morning session, the 27-year-old player took part in light training with the squad. Following strict medical advice to avoid any physical contact, he participated in rondos and finishing drills but sat out the high-intensity exercises.
Both players were fined €500,000 following an altercation that raised immediate concern at the club. Real Madrid implemented standard medical protocols for the head injury, ordering rest and monitoring, and initially expected the midfielder to miss 10 to 14 days
Real Madrid sources confirmed through Marca that the midfielder is completely restricted from any high-risk or impact drills to avoid further complications.
The Spanish club’s goal is to strictly follow the medical protocol timeline before clearing Valverde for a full return.
While his recovery is progressing well, his availability still depends on final approval from the medical staff. If he passes the remaining assessments, he could be included in the squad for the upcoming match against Athletic Bilbao.
Regarding the rest of the squad, goalkeeper Andriy Lunin remains sidelined with a viral infection. Meanwhile, Dean Huijsen has fully recovered and trained normally with the group ahead of the upcoming match against Sevilla at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán.
Ferland Mendy, Éder Militão, Arda Güler, and Rodrygo all continued their individual recovery programs.
Real Madrid sits second in La Liga with just two matches left, their title hopes officially ended after a 2-0 El Clásico defeat to Barcelona, who clinched the championship.
