In a one-sided final at the Fez Sports Complex, AS FAR wasted no time taking control of the game, calling the shots from the opening minutes, and completely overpowering RS Berkane with a 4-0 win in a night to remember for the capital-based side.
Hanane Aït El Haj stole the show after delivering a brilliant hat-trick. The star opened the scoring early in the seventh minute, before coming back and adding two more goals in the second half, putting the game beyond reach. Mahouna Boulmich later scored the fourth from the penalty spot, deepening the wound even more.
AS FAR entered the final as clear favorites, and once again lived up to expectations, in what seemed like a glimpse of the gap that still separates them from the rest of the women’s game in Morocco.
The title marked AS FAR’s 13th Women’s Throne Cup crown. The powerhouse managed to extend a remarkable run of dominance, lifting the trophy almost every year since 2013.
Still, AS FAR continues to set the standard. And judging by the level displayed once again in Fez, the military side does not look ready to give up its throne anytime soon.
