Rabat – Morocco national team coach Mohamed Ouahbi has called up Amine Sbaï, the young forward of Angers SCO, to take part in the Atlas Lions’ preliminary training camp ahead of the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Moroccan national team is holding a preparatory camp from May 22 to May 26 at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, where the technical staff is aiming to assess several players before confirming the final squad for the tournament.
Yesterday, Ouahbi unveiled a provisional 28-man squad set to participate in the training camp, as preparations intensify ahead of the final selection for Morocco’s World Cup campaign.
Sbaï’s inclusion is seen as an opportunity for the young talent to impress the coaching staff and fight for a place in the final squad that will represent Morocco on football’s biggest stage.
Who is Amine Sbaï?
Sbaï is a 25-year-old Moroccan winger born in Sidi Kacem who currently plays for Angers SCO in Ligue 1. Known for his pace and dribbling, he mainly plays as a left winger but can also operate on the right side of attack.
Sbaï is considered a fast and technical winger who adds creativity to his team’s attack.
The Moroccan player came through the youth systems of French clubs like Nîmes Olympique before starting his senior career with lower-division sides such as Olympique Alès and FC Sète 34. He later made a name for himself at Grenoble Foot 38, had a spell with Al-Fateh SC in Saudi Arabia, and then joined Angers in 2025.
