First stop: the 2026 World Cup
While the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which Morocco will co-host with Spain and Portugal, is the big long-term goal, Ouahbi is focused on the immediate future.
He explained that his main priority right now is preparing the team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the US, Canada, and Mexico. He sees this year’s tournament as a crucial stepping stone to build an unsurpassed team.
A busy scheduleÂ
With two AFCONs and one World Cup, the next two years will be an intense period for the Atlas Lions.Â
This busy calendar is exactly why the federation wanted stability. By securing Ouahbi long-term, Morocco is moving away from quick fixes and focusing on a real, steady project.
