Casablanca — Cyber threat outlet Dark Web Informer reported that a threat actor using the name Jabaroot claims to have leaked more than 695,000 records linked to Watiqa.ma, Morocco’s online platform for requesting civil status documents.

The alleged breach concerns data from a public service used by citizens to request administrative documents online, including birth certificates and other civil records. According to the report, the exposed information includes names, contact details, parents’ names, birth certificate numbers, and other civil identity data.

A message left with the leaked document says the data was shared on behalf of Jabaroot. It also describes the Watiqa.ma dump as complete data from the Moroccan government’s electronic platform for civil status documents. The message claims the files include full identity details, mother’s and father’s names, and birth certificate numbers.

Jabaroot is not an unknown name in Morocco-related cyber incidents. The threat actor has previously been linked to leaks involving Moroccan data, making the latest claim more closely watched by cybersecurity observers.

The claim has not been independently verified. There has also been no official confirmation so far from Moroccan authorities or from the platform about the alleged breach.

Watiqa.ma is used to simplify access to civil status documents by allowing users to submit requests online instead of going through traditional administrative channels. Because of the nature of the service, any exposed data connected to the platform could involve sensitive personal and administrative information.

Dark Web Informer said the alleged leak was posted by the threat actor and presented as a database tied to the civil document platform. The outlet reported the number of exposed records to be more than 695,000.

The reported incident comes as public digital services in Morocco continue to expand, with more citizens relying on online platforms for administrative procedures.
