Rabat – Morocco defender Noussair Mazraoui suffered a shoulder dislocation during the national team’s friendly match against Norway, according to initial medical examinations carried out after the injury.
The Manchester United full-back was forced to leave the pitch in the first half of the 1-1 draw against Norway after struggling to continue.
Head coach Mohamed Wahbi replaced him in the 29th minute, bringing on Youssef Belammari in his place.
According to reports, Mazraoui is believed to have suffered a shoulder dislocation, though early indications suggest it may be a partial dislocation rather than a complete one.
This keeps his chances of taking part in Morocco’s upcoming friendly against Brazil, scheduled for June 13, alive.
The upcoming training sessions will be decisive in determining whether Mazraoui can fully recover in time and be physically ready to participate at 100%.
Mazraoui’s situation is being closely followed because of his importance to the Moroccan national team.
His experience, tactical intelligence, and ability to play in different defensive roles make him one of the most valuable players in the squad.
He brings balance on the right side, supports the attack with smart movement, and gives Morocco composure when building from the back.
His presence is especially important in a high-level match against Brazil, where Morocco will need experienced players capable of dealing with pace, pressure, and individual quality.
Mazraoui’s defensive discipline and Champions League-level experience make him a key option for the national team in such demanding games.
For now, Morocco will wait for the final medical assessment before deciding on his participation. While the injury raised concern after he left the Norway match early, the initial signs give hope that he could still be available for the Brazil clash
