Fez – The French School Odette du Puigaudeau has reached a new milestone with the organization of the French baccalaureate examinations on its Dakhla campus for the first time, marking an important step in the development of French education in southern Morocco.

The exams began this week in the presence of Guylène Esnault, Deputy Advisor for Cultural Cooperation and Educational Affairs in charge of French education in Morocco.

She welcomed the achievement as a significant moment for students, families, and the wider educational community.

Founded in 2012, the Odette du Puigaudeau School now offers education from kindergarten through high school.

This year, 33 students are sitting for the baccalaureate examinations in Dakhla, benefiting from the opening of a local examination center that allows them to complete this important stage of their education without leaving the city.

The establishment of the examination center reflects growing confidence in the school and confirms its full integration into the network of French education abroad.

It also responds to the expectations of families who have chosen a curriculum aligned with the standards of the French national education system.

The school welcomed 241 students during the current academic year and continues to expand around an educational project built on three priorities: promoting multilingual learning, supporting academic success through a comprehensive educational approach, and preparing responsible and environmentally conscious citizens.

School officials described the organization of the baccalaureate exams in Dakhla as a new chapter in the institution’s history and an important contribution to the development of French educational opportunities in the region.

Speaking on the occasion, Esnault pointed to the value of the French diploma and the opportunities it provides for graduates.

“The opening of the French baccalaureate examinations in Dakhla today is an opportunity to recall the quality of the French diploma, which gives graduates access to a large number of excellent higher education institutions in Morocco, France and internationally,” she said in a press release.

The milestone shows the continued growth of the French School Odette du Puigaudeau and reinforces the role it plays in expanding access to French education in Morocco’s southern regions.
