Rabat — The Moroccan Consulate General in Madrid organized a mobile consular mission on Saturday in the Spanish province of Ávila, allowing members of the Moroccan community to complete administrative procedures closer to their place of residence.

Located in the Castile and León region, about 110 kilometers northwest of Madrid, Ávila is home to a large Moroccan community, with a total of 4,389 residents, representing 43.12% of expats.

Following directives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, I, the operation is part of ongoing efforts to bring consular services closer to Moroccans living across Spain

Consular teams provided a range of services during the visit. Residents were able to apply for biometric passports and electronic national identity cards, complete civil status procedures, and obtain or legalize administrative and adoulary documents.

Officials also met with residents and assisted with administrative, legal, and social matters. Questions and requests raised by community members were addressed throughout the day.

The initiative comes as the summer season begins, a period when many Moroccans living abroad prepare for trips home. Consular services typically see higher demand at this time of year as people renew documents and manage paperwork before traveling.

For many residents, the mobile consulate spared them a trip to Madrid, allowing them to complete procedures in their city of residence while receiving support directly from consular staff.

The Consulate General in Madrid said the initiative reflects its efforts to expand its presence across its consular district and make services more accessible to Moroccan citizens living in Spain.
