Rabat – Morocco has become the first international stop for Alexandre Morois, who recently assumed leadership of the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE). The choice comes within days of his appointment and points to the country’s weight within the agency’s global network.

Across Morocco, French education maintains a strong presence, with dozens of accredited institutions and tens of thousands of students enrolled. This scale places the country among the most significant hubs for AEFE worldwide, in size and in influence.

During his stay, Morois plans a series of meetings with school heads, staff representatives, and parents. These encounters aim to open direct exchanges on the future of the network, as well as concerns tied to its direction.

The visit sets a tone that favors proximity to the field and attention to those who shape daily school life.

The trip also aligns with the annual strategic meeting for the Morocco zone, held alongside the French ambassador to Morocco, Philippe Lalliot.

School leaders from across the network will gather to assess the past academic year and outline priorities ahead. Teacher training and the place of Arabic within the curriculum stand among the key points on the agenda.

Morois will also travel between Rabat and Casablanca, with scheduled stops at several well-known institutions, including Lycée Descartes, Collège Saint-Exupéry, Lycée Français International Jacques Chirac, and Lycée Lyautey.

This first official visit sets the groundwork for Morois’ mandate, with an approach that leans on dialogue and direct contact, as the AEFE seeks to sustain its standards and extend its reach in Morocco.
