RABAT – Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti has made it clear that his side’s focus remains solely on its own task against Scotland, dismissing any temptation to monitor the outcome of the other Group C encounter between Morocco and Haiti.
Brazil and Scotland face off on Wednesday at 11 p.m. local time (GMT+1), while Morocco takes on Haiti at the same time, with all four teams concluding their group-stage campaigns at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, the Italian coach stressed that the Seleção aims to secure first place in the group through its own performance rather than depending on the result of Morocco’s match.
“Top spot in the group? We will not focus on the Morocco-Haiti match. We will focus on our game against Scotland, and we have to play it well,” Ancelotti said.
The former Real Madrid manager acknowledged the challenge Steve Clarke’s side poses, noting that Scotland remains in contention for qualification and will have plenty of motivation heading into the decisive fixture.
“Scotland is a good and organized team. They still have a chance to qualify,” he added. “We will seek to control the course of the match and deliver a strong performance in midfield.”
Brazil enters the final round of Group C fixtures level on points with Morocco, with the battle for first place expected to go down to the wire. A victory over Scotland would guarantee the five-time world champions top spot regardless of the outcome of the Atlas Lions’ clash with Haiti.
