Rabat – Ismael Saibari continued his remarkable 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign on Wednesday, scoring against Haiti to become the first Moroccan player to find the net in three consecutive World Cup matches.
The 25-year-old also became the first African footballer to score in each of his first three appearances at the tournament. Ava

Saibari reached the milestone in first-half stoppage time, scoring Morocco’s second equalizer during a dramatic Group C encounter in Atlanta.
Achraf Hakimi delivered a low cross into the penalty area before Brahim Diaz cleverly allowed the ball to run through to Saibari.
The forward found space and fired a right-footed finish into the net, bringing Morocco level at 2-2 shortly before the halftime whistle.
Three Matches, Three Goals
Saibari began his World Cup journey by scoring against Brazil in Morocco’s opening group match.
Running behind the Brazilian defence, he collected the ball inside the penalty area and calmly lifted it over goalkeeper Alisson to give the Atlas Lions the lead. Brazil later equalized as the match ended 1-1.
Saibari struck again in Morocco’s second game against Scotland. He needed less than 72 seconds to open the scoring, finishing emphatically into the top corner after another move involving Brahim Diaz.
That goal proved decisive as Morocco secured a 1-0 victory. It was also the fastest goal of the 2026 World Cup at that stage of the tournament.
His equalizer against Haiti completed a perfect scoring run across Morocco’s three group-stage matches: Brazil, Scotland and Haiti.
No Moroccan player had previously scored in three consecutive World Cup games.
Saibari’s third tournament goal also moved him level with Youssef En-Nesyri as Morocco’s joint-highest scorer in World Cup history.
