Rabat – Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi has added another historic achievement to his growing list of accomplishments at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in yesterday’s match against Haiti.
According to Opta, Hakimi became the first defender since records began in 1966 to achieve a remarkable combination of attacking statistics in a single World Cup match.

The Moroccan full-back attempted at least five shots, delivering exactly five attempts on goal.
He also created seven chances for his teammates, including one assist.
In addition, Hakimi completed five successful dribbles during the match.
No defender has recorded all three numbers in the same World Cup game since Opta started collecting and analyzing detailed match data in 1966.
Hakimi’s performance highlighted his importance to Morocco’s attack. He was dangerous in front of goal, creative in the final third, and difficult for defenders to stop.
The Paris Saint-Germain star continues to prove why he is considered one of the best attacking full-backs in the world of football.
His historic display helped Morocco maintain its strong momentum at the 2026 World Cup and once again demonstrated his ability to influence matches in multiple ways.
As Opta described it in one word: disruptive.
