Rabat – Moroccan football player Youssef El Kachati has joined French Ligue 2 club Stade de Reims under a three-year contract.
The French club announced the news on Thursday, introducing El Kachti as part of its squad after he moved from Dutch team NEC Nijmegen.
The football player will remain with the French club until 2028, the French club announced, commending his performance.
“Over two seasons, Youssef confirmed his potential in the Dutch second division. During the 2024-25 campaign, he played 37 matches, scored 19 goals, and provided six assists,” the Stade de Reims wrote in a press release.
The statement further emphasized how the player shone in the promotion playoffs, scoring five goals in six games.
The club recalled that the Moroccan-Dutch striker started his football journey at Noordwijk’s academy before joining Sparta Rotterdam’s youth academy in 2016.
He also played for Westerlo’s U21 team before signing for KVV Quick Boys of Katwijk in 2022.
Quoted by the French club, El Kachati expressed happiness to join Stade de Reims, stating that this represents an “important step” in his career.
“It is a historic club with a great reputation in French football, and I am grateful for the trust the club has placed in me. I look forward to helping the team achieve its goals and sharing my great moments with our supporters,” he said.
The club concluded the statement by welcoming the football player, hoping he could assist in strengthening its rank.
