Rabat – Tunisian sports analyst Fathi Al-Mouldi said Morocco’s national team is on course to become a “new striking force” in world football following its recent results.
Speaking on a Libyan TV show, Al-Mouldi pointed to Morocco’s strong start to the World Cup, including its performance against Brazil in the group stage and its display against the Netherlands in the Round of 32.
He described the national team as “the pride of Arabs and African,” adding that such momentum leaves no room for hesitation. Morocco, he said, must continue forward with the same spirit and determination.
Al-Mouldi, one of Tunisia’s leading sports analysts, said across several local and Arab media outlets that the Atlas Lions play a modern brand of football and rank among the world’s top national teams. He believes Morocco has the potential for a strong World Cup run.
Speaking about the upcoming Round of 16 clash with Canada, the Tunisian sports analyst described the match as within reach, provided Morocco maintains the same spirit, discipline, and intensity shown against Brazil and the Netherlands. “This match looks very attainable if Morocco retains that level,” he said.
He also addressed the coaching change ahead of the tournament, noting that it raised some concerns. However, he said Mohamed Ouahbi has brought a notable addition compared to Walid Regragui. According to him, when a clear vision and strategy are in place, a change in coach does not alter the team’s ambition.
Al-Mouldi’s remarks come amid a series of disappointing results for several Arab and African teams, placing Morocco’s performances in sharper perspective.
