Rabat – Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announced an additional batch of special flights between Casablanca and Boston and Casablanca and New York in response to what it described as an overwhelming demand from fans seeking to travel to the US to root for Morocco during its World Cup quarterfinal game on Thursday.
Royal Air Maroc said that the new flights complement the original schedule, adding that flights between Casablanca and Boston will be operated directly to meet the exceptionally high demand ahead of the game between Morocco and France.
Royal Air Maroc said it will also operate direct flights between Casablanca and New York, with departures taking place from July 6-9.
Return flights will be available between July 10 and 19.
Royal Air Maroc set the prices for direct flights between Casablanca and the two US destinations at MAD 10,000 in economy class.
The tickets will be valid for fixed travel dates and will be non-changeable and non-refundable, the airline said.
Royal Air Maroc said the flights are available starting today, urging fans to book their travel through its commercial agencies across Morocco or via its dedicated online booking platform.
Earlier today, Royal Air Maroc announced 12 special direct flights between Casablanca and Boston ahead of the game.
The flights, according to the company, will provide a total of 3,600 seats for supporters seeking to attend and watch Morocco’s game.
Morocco has enjoyed an outstanding World Cup journey, securing four wins and one draw.
Morocco defeated Haiti and Scotland in the group stage and drew with Brazil 1-1. In the Round of 32, Morocco secured a well-deserved win against the Netherlands through a penalty shootout and won against Canada to go through to the quarterfinals after an intense Round of 16.
Now the Atlas Lions will face Mbappé and his teammate on Thursday at 9 p.m. Moroccan time, with fans eager to see the national team take revenge to end Les Bleus’ World Cup journey.
France ended Morocco’s historic World Cup journey in Qatar in 2022, but the Atlas Lions’ performance marked a new era for the national team, which made its mark on World Cup history as the first Arab and African team to reach this stage of the tournament.
