Rabat – Houcine Ammouta has officially been appointed as the new head coach of Al Ahly, with the Egyptian club unveiling the Moroccan manager during a press conference today in Cairo.
Al Ahly confirmed Ammouta’s appointment as the man who will lead the club’s first team ahead of the new season, as the African champions look to continue their dominance in Egypt and on the continent.
The Egyptian giants have placed their trust in the experienced Moroccan coach, who is widely regarded as one of the most successful managers in Arab and African football.
Ammouta boasts an impressive coaching resume, having guided Wydad AC to the CAF Champions League title before leading Morocco’s local national team to two African Nations Championship (CHAN) crowns. Just recently Ammouta managed the Jordanian national team to reach the 2026 FIFA World Cup for the first time in history.
His appointment marks a new chapter for both the coach and Al Ahly, with the club aiming to add more silverware to its trophy cabinet this season under his leadership.
