Marrakech – Dubai’s General Directorate for Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) has announced the availability of a five-year multiple-entry tourist visa. The new visa allows travelers of all nationalities to enter the UAE, including Dubai, multiple times without the need for a sponsor or host inside the country.
The visa permits a stay of up to 90 days per visit. Holders can extend their stay for an additional 90 days. However, the total duration of stay must not exceed 180 days within a single year.
To qualify, applicants must hold a valid passport or travel document with at least six months of remaining validity. They must also provide a bank statement from the past six months showing a minimum balance of $4,000 or its equivalent in foreign currency. A valid health insurance policy covering the UAE and a round-trip flight ticket are also required.
The application itself requires a recent personal photograph, a copy of the passport, the six-month bank statement, health insurance documentation, and the return ticket.
In terms of costs, the GDRFA outlined a detailed fee structure. The application fee is AED 100 ($27), while visa issuance costs AED 500 ($136). A financial guarantee of AED 3,000 ($817) is also required.
Additional charges include an AED 20 ($5) guarantee processing fee, an AED 10 ($3) innovation fee, an AED 10 ($3) knowledge fee, AED 52.5 ($14) in service charges, and an AED 21 ($6) warranty service fee.
The total comes to approximately AED 3,713.5 ($1,012). The directorate noted that fees may vary depending on the applicant’s circumstances or additional procedural requirements.
Applicants can submit their requests through three channels. The first is the GDRFA’s digital platform, accessible via its website or mobile app, which operates around the clock.
The second is through one of the Customer Happiness Centers, where applicants can visit in person, take a queue number, and submit their documents.
The third option is through Amer service centers, which follow the same in-person process. The expected processing time is approximately 48 hours after all documents and procedures are completed.
The GDRFA also outlined the consequences of violating visa conditions. Fines are collected at the point of departure, and the financial guarantee is confiscated in accordance with applicable regulations. Visa holders or their representatives can request a travel movement report to review entry and exit records and check remaining days of permitted stay to avoid any violations.
The visa is designed for frequent travelers, including tourists, business visitors, and those with family ties in the UAE, offering long-term access without repeated applications.
