Casablanca – Almost a week after Morocco’s elimination from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Achraf Hakimi and Brahim Diaz have delivered nearly identical messages to supporters, urging fans to look beyond the disappointment and believe that the national team’s journey is far from over.
The two Atlas Lions stars took to social media in recent days, joining a growing chorus within the Moroccan camp focused not on the defeat itself, but on the future.
Diaz thanked Moroccan supporters for standing behind the team throughout the tournament, acknowledging the pain of the World Cup exit while insisting it would only strengthen the squad.
“A few days ago, our World Cup journey came to an end. We leave with sadness, but this doesn’t end here. We’ll come back stronger, hungrier, and even more determined to keep fighting for our country,” Diaz wrote.
He also expressed his gratitude to the fans, adding that their unwavering support “meant a lot” to the players before concluding: “The best is yet to come.”
Hakimi echoed that same optimism in a shorter but equally symbolic message.
“Great nations are not defined by a defeat, but by everything they build. Morocco continues to write its history. And the best is yet to come,” the Paris Saint-Germain defender wrote, ending his post with the words: “God, Country, King.”
Their posts reinforce a message that has been consistently shared across the Moroccan camp since the quarterfinal defeat to France.
Goalkeeper Yassine Bounou called on the team to accept the loss with humility and immediately focus on getting back to work, while head coach Mohamed Ouahbi also insisted that Morocco’s future would be “brighter and more beautiful.”
Although Morocco’s World Cup campaign ended in the quarterfinals, the Atlas Lions once again established themselves among football’s big names after another deep run on the global stage.
Rather than focusing on the disappointment, Morocco’s leading figures appear united around one idea: the project continues, and the team’s biggest achievements may still lie ahead.
