Rabat – The Ministry of Digital Transition announced on Thursday the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Capgemini Morocco to advance AI development.
Minister of Digital Transition Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni signed the agreement with Capgemini’s Global Operations and Delivery Director, Karine Brunet.
The agreement will support startups and project teams backed by the Jazari Institute, with the aim of strengthening AI skills and awareness among public institutions and academic stakeholders.
The agreement forms part of the implementation of the Morocco Digital 2030 roadmap and the AI Made in Morocco initiative. El Fallah Seghrouchni welcomed the Moroccan approach of prioritizing digital technology and AI as key pillars of public-sector modernization, economic competitiveness, and social progress.
The minister noted that the agreement reflects a shared conviction that successful digital transformation requires a combination of public vision, expressing hope that the partnership would mark the beginning of a “fruitful, ambitious, and lasting collaboration” that aligns with Morocco’s ambitions.
Brunet echoed those remarks, stating that Morocco has established itself as a leading player in technology and digital services, attributing this progress to the country’s “ambitious vision.”
“AI is nothing without human capital, and companies need talent capable of combining technological expertise, business understanding, data proficiency, innovation, and the ability to work in increasingly complex environments,” Brunet said.
Morocco’s government continues to pledge further efforts to advance AI use and promote its ethical development.
The latest Economic Index published by Anthropic in June shows Morocco is gaining ground in the global AI landscape.
The index ranks Morocco 66th worldwide in the use of Anthropic’s AI assistant, Claude.
The report analyzes Claude usage across 121 countries, placing Morocco among those showing moderate use of the platform.
