Rabat – AS Roma have reportedly added Moroccan international Zakaria El Ouahdi to their shortlist as the Italian club searches for a new right-back in the summer transfer window.
According to Italian journalist Andrea Losapio, Roma are considering a move for the KRC Genk defender following the departure of Zeki Çelik to Juventus. The report values El Ouahdi at around €15 million.
El Ouahdi attracted attention after an outstanding campaign with Genk, where he recorded 16 goal contributions, scoring 12 goals and providing four assists. His performances established him as one of the Belgian side’s key players and an undisputed starter.
The 24-year-old also featured for Morocco at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, further boosting his profile on the international stage.
Roma are expected to continue evaluating potential options before making a formal approach, but El Ouahdi’s consistent performances in Belgium have made him one of the club’s leading candidates to strengthen the right side of defense.
