Rabat – Celebrating her grandson’s World Cup triumph with Spain following a 1-0 victory over Argentina in the final, Fatima expressed her relief after a tense final and promised to prepare his favorite Moroccan dish, Rfissa, when he returns home.
“I am very happy. Thank you to everyone. Of course, I felt nervous, but when I heard the fans cheering and saw them score the goal, I said, ‘Okay, it’s over. Thank God,’” Fatima said of her emotions while watching the match.
Fatima also said she is ready to prepare whatever her grandson wants to eat when he returns from the United States.
“Whatever he asks for, he will choose, and I will prepare whatever he wants. If he wants Rfissa, I will prepare it for him, and if he wants anything else, I will make it for him,” she said.
Rfissa is a traditional Moroccan dish made with msemen or shredded flatbread. It is served with a rich broth of chicken, lentils, and fenugreek, and seasoned with a blend of Moroccan spices. It is especially popular during family gatherings and special occasions.
