Rabat – Airports of Morocco, formerly the National Airports Office (ONDA), announced a fully digital boarding pass for travelers through Pax Check.
Airports of Morocco announced the news in a statement today, promising travelers“just a few clicks” to make their way to the boarding gate.
“Pax Check is now part of the solutions deployed by Airports of Morocco. This innovation reflects changing travel habits, where the mobile phone has become the starting point of every journey,” the airport authority said.
It said that the new feature enables booking, check-in, and flight information online. Pax Check “extends this digital experience to the airport by integrating the boarding pass into a fully paperless passenger journey,” Airports of Morocco said.
The statement noted that travelers receive their boarding pass in the form of a secure QR code after checking in online through their airline’s app.
“Document verification is completed in advance by airlines in accordance with the applicable regulatory requirements,” the statement said, adding that this allows passengers to move more smoothly through security checkpoints and automated gates “without the need to present a printed boarding pass.”
Airports of Morocco said Pax Check reduces the “need to handle documents” and facilitates movement through airport terminals to provide a “more comfortable airport experience.”
It also pledges that the new system upholds the highest standards of safety and security, adding that the service will be rolled out gradually across airlines that have met the technical, operational, and regulatory requirements necessary to integrate the system.
The statement comes as Morocco’s government continues its efforts to expand the digitalization of public services.
The announcement also comes amid a tourism boom in Morocco.
Moroccan airports handled a total of 18.8 million passengers between January and June 2026, representing an 8.83% increase compared with the same period in 2025, according to the Airports of Morocco’s latest data.
International traffic accounted for the vast majority of passenger flows, reaching 16,835,752 travelers, up 8.86% year-on-year, while national traffic rose by 8.6% to 1,995,709 passengers.
Among Morocco’s main airports, Mohammed V International Airport recorded the highest passenger volume, with 5,756,388 travelers, marking a 10.13% increase compared with the first six months of 2025.
