Agadir – Morocco has approved around 100 projects under the first phase of its “Power Export” program, marking a key step in the implementation of the country’s Foreign Trade Roadmap 2025-2027 to expand the country’s exporter base and strengthen companies’ access to international markets.
The approvals were announced on Thursday during a meeting of the program’s Steering Committee in Rabat, which reviewed 435 applications submitted by companies from across Morocco.
The selected projects are designed to strengthen the export capabilities of Moroccan businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and cooperatives. The program targets existing exporters, first-time exporters, and companies seeking to diversify their international markets through tailored support adapted to their specific needs.
Reinforcing Morocco’s economic presence
Secretary of State for Foreign Trade Omar Hejira said the approval of the first batch of projects represents a decisive milestone in moving the “Power Export” program from preparation to implementation.
Hejira noted that the initiative is part of the Foreign Trade Roadmap 2025-2027, which seeks to broaden Morocco’s exporter base, improve the competitiveness of domestic companies, accelerate the digitalization of the foreign trade ecosystem, diversify export destinations, and reinforce Morocco’s economic presence, particularly across Africa.
He added that the roadmap also aims to provide businesses with more effective support and insurance mechanisms to facilitate access to international markets.
Ali Seddiki, Director General of the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE), said the program builds on territorial assessments conducted across Morocco’s 12 regions and complements the third year of the “Export Morocco Now” initiative.
According to Seddiki, the first approved applications include companies operating throughout the country in strategic sectors such as agri-food, textiles, chemicals, and parachemicals.
The “Power Export” program is one of the flagship initiatives under Morocco’s Foreign Trade Roadmap 2025-2027, the national strategy aimed at strengthening foreign trade and enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy.
The integrated program combines export diagnostics, technical assistance, financing, and business support to accompany companies through every stage of their export development.
