Rabat – Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) President Fouzi Lekjaa has welcomed FIFA President Gianni Infantino’s decision to withdraw the proposed FIFA Forward Enterprise project, saying the move puts the unity of world football ahead of divisions and safeguards the interests of FIFA’s member associations.
In a press release issued on Saturday, the FRMF said the progress achieved through FIFA’s development programs in recent years, particularly across Africa, represents an important achievement that should be preserved for the benefit of all member associations.
The Moroccan federation acknowledged the significance of the proposed reform but stressed that maintaining the unity of the global football family should take precedence over any disagreements the project may have created.
Lekjaa described Infantino’s decision as “wise,” saying it prioritizes unity and cohesion among FIFA’s member associations through a participatory approach to advancing the development of football.
The FRMF president also reiterated Morocco’s full support for FIFA President Gianni Infantino and for initiatives aimed at promoting football development worldwide.
The statement concluded by affirming that the unity of world football remains the guiding principle behind the sport’s decision-making and its continued global growth.
