Casablanca – PSG have stepped up their pursuit of Mika Godts after the Belgian winger agreed in principle to join the club. Speaking to the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, his agent, Niels De Jonck, confirmed that the player had received a salary offer and agreed to join PSG.
An important factor. It’s primarily the interest from the Parisian club’s management and coach Luis Enrique that convinced the Belgian winger. “PSG made it clear that they absolutely wanted Mika. And Mika wants to go to Paris, which seems logical to me when you can go from the Eredivisie to the two-time Champions League winner,” his agent stated.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Ajax Amsterdam player has already spoken with Luis Campos, PSG’s sporting director, and his profile appeals to Luis Enrique, with whom he has also held discussions. After his impressive season in the Netherlands, with 17 goals and 12 assists, the Belgian has made Paris his preferred destination and has given the green light to the move.
The two clubs must now thrash out an agreement. Especially since Ajax Amsterdam’s management had declared the Belgian player non-transferable. “Everyone has their own interests, that’s normal,” says the player’s agent. “I’m confident the clubs will reach an agreement on the transfer fee.”
