Agadir – The Sultanate of Oman has included Moroccan citizens among the nationalities eligible for its short-term visa exemption program, allowing them to visit the country for tourism purposes for up to 14 days under certain conditions.
The measure is part of Oman’s efforts to facilitate tourism and attract international visitors, with the program covering citizens of more than 100 countries and territories.
Morocco is classified under the second category of eligible nationalities. While travelers from the first category can enter Oman visa-free for a 14-day stay without additional requirements, Moroccan nationals must meet specific criteria to benefit from the exemption.
According to the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Moroccan travelers must hold a valid entry visa or residence permit issued by the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, or a Schengen Area country.
Moroccan citizens residing in a Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) country may also qualify for the exemption, provided their profession falls within the categories approved by Omani authorities for residence visas.
In addition to these requirements, travelers must have a passport valid for at least six months, a confirmed return or onward ticket, proof of accommodation in Oman, health insurance covering their stay, and sufficient financial means.
The visa-free entry allows visitors to remain in Oman for a maximum of 14 days and cannot be extended or converted into another visa category or residence permit, according to Omani authorities.
The exemption does not apply to all Moroccan travelers. Those who do not meet the eligibility criteria are required to obtain a visa before traveling. Applications can be submitted online through the Royal Oman Police eVisa platform, where applicants can check their eligibility and complete the required procedures.
