Rabat – Maghreb Fez have been drawn against Burkina Faso’s Rahimo FC in the first preliminary round of the 2026-2027 CAF Champions League following Thursday’s draw in Cairo.
The Moroccan side will begin its quest for a place in the group stage with a two-legged tie against the Burkinabe club.
If Maghreb Fez progress to the second preliminary round, they will face the winner of the first-round encounter between Ivory Coast’s ASEC Mimosas and ASKO de Kara.
The first-leg matches of the opening preliminary round are scheduled to take place on September 4, 5, or 6, while the return legs will be played on September 11, 12, or 13.
Should Maghreb Fez advance, the second preliminary round will be held in October. The first leg is scheduled for October 16, 17, or 18, with the return leg set for October 23, 24, or 25.
The draw marks the beginning of Maghreb Fez’s return to Africa’s premier club competition, where the Moroccan side will aim to secure a place in the next stage of the tournament.
RS Berkane
Morocco’s RS Berkane received a bye to the second preliminary round and will begin their CAF Champions League campaign directly in October.
The Orange Boys will face the winner of the first-round tie between Sierra Leone’s Star Sport Academy and Gambia’s Medina United, as they look to build on their growing continental reputation and secure a place in the group stage.
Berkane reached the CAF Champions League semi-finals last season, where they were eliminated by AS FAR, and will be aiming to go one step further in this year’s competition.
