Rabat – Manchester City is on the verge of reportedly announcing Ayyoub Bouaddi coming to the club officially, as reports state the Premier League team has reached a full agreement on personal terms with the rising star.
Goal said the rising star, who showed mesmerizing performances in his appearances with Morocco at the 2026 World Cup, is a priority for Manchester City.
Fabrizio Romano announced that the youngster is switching to the Premier League as soon as possible.
On X, Romano said Bouaddi and “his camp have now reached an agreement on personal terms with Manchester City.”
As a next step, Manchester City is expected to sign a deal with Lille.
The mercato expert said the process is already advanced, as “Bouaddi’s preference would be to join City NOW – rather than in 2027.”
Bouaddi made heroic performances during Morocco’s run in the 2026 World Cup, especially during the Brazil vs Atlas Lions games.
Bouaddi stole the headlines with his masterful World Cup debut against Brazil at MetLife Stadium, delivering a composed midfield performance that Morocco boss Mohamed Ouahbi said came as no surprise to him.
Post-match data from Sofascore said the 18-year-old player led Morocco with 87 touches, 60 accurate passes, and three successful dribbles, highlighting a stellar World Cup debut that helped the Atlas Lions compete toe-to-toe with one of football’s most decorated nations.
“It was not a risk to play him just because he is 18,” Ouahbi told journalists after the match.
“I only look at players’ performance, not the age of the player. He could be 35, and if he plays well, he’ll play, or if he’s 17,” he added.
