Casablanca – Morocco international Couhaib Driouech is expected to be officially unveiled today as a Rangers player after completing his medical, according to Dutch journalist Erik Elfrink.
Elfrink reported that only minor contractual details remained before the transfer could be finalized, with the Moroccan winger now on course to be presented by the Scottish club.
“Confirmation from the Netherlands: tomorrow, weather permitting, Couhaib Driouech will be presented in Glasgow and the final details will be ironed out,” Elfrink wrote yesterday.
“There were still some contractual points and commas this evening, but everything is now in the bag. A medical examination has taken place.”
The update comes after Rangers reached an agreement with PSV Eindhoven over the transfer of the 24-year-old, following weeks of negotiations.
Before travelling to Scotland for his medical, Driouech expressed his excitement about completing the move.
“I’m looking forward to the medical examination and hope everything goes well so I can sign,” he told reporters at the airport.
The Moroccan international also spoke about the club’s supporters, revealing he had already heard plenty about the atmosphere at Ibrox.
“I’ve heard a lot of positive things about the Rangers fans, and I’m looking forward to experiencing the atmosphere inside the stadium.”
Driouech arrives with Champions League experience after two seasons at PSV, where he scored against clubs such as Arsenal and Liverpool, establishing himself as one of the Eredivisie’s most exciting attacking players.
If the final paperwork is completed as expected, the winger will become one of Rangers’ marquee signings of the summer as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season.
