Casablanca – Following another successful season across the continent’s various age categories, the Confederation of African Tennis has crowned Morocco African tennis champions for the eighth consecutive year.
This recognition reflects the collective performances of Morocco’s national teams throughout the year, the Royal Moroccan Tennis Federation said in a statement, stressing that the country produced strong results in both individual and team competitions.
The latest success came at the Arab U14 Tennis Championships in Tunisia, held from August 16 to 23, where Morocco claimed three of the four available titles across the singles and team events.
Morocco dominated the latter stages in the boys’ singles competition, with Soulaymane Jamji, Adam Smihi and Nasser Mouaffaq all reaching the semifinals.
The tournament ultimately produced an all-Moroccan final, with Jamji defeating Smihi to become Arab U14 champion, while his compatriot finished runner-up.
Morocco also secured the girls’ singles title as Yakout El Ghafouli defeated Tunisia’s Mariem Miladi in the final to claim the Arab U14 crown.
The Moroccan boys continued their success in the team competition, with Jamji, Mouaffaq and Smihi combining to win the boys’ U14 team title.
The girls’ team, made up of Lilia Jelloul, Joumana El Ouazzani and El Ghafouli, also reached the final, ultimately finishing as runners-up.
This eighth consecutive African title adds to the depth of Morocco’s talent pipeline, with young players continuing to deliver results across both individual and team competitions.
