Casablanca – Moroccan midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi has completed his move from Lille to Manchester City after passing his medical and finalizing the paperwork for the transfer.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that the 18-year-old successfully underwent his medical in Manchester before officially joining the Premier League club.
The agreement sees City pay €95 million upfront, with a further €5 million in potential add-ons, taking the total value of the deal to €100 million.
Romano also confirmed that both clubs have now signed all transfer documents
Bouaddi was just 16 years and three days old when he first appeared for the French club in October 2023, making him the youngest player to feature in the UEFA Conference League.
His transfer is also expected to establish a new benchmark for teenage signings in the Premier League.
The Times reported that the Moroccan midfielder will surpass the previous record held by Leny Yoro, who moved from Lille to Manchester United for £59 million.
Over the past season, Bouaddi remarkably progressed from Lille’s teenage prospect into a highly regarded midfielder on the European stage. His emergence with Morocco’s Atlas Lions has further elevated his profile.
Manchester City have now placed significant faith in that potential, committing an initial €95 million to bring him to England.
The club had already spent heavily in the position this summer, including the signing of Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest.
For Bouaddi, the transfer marks the biggest step yet in a rapid career trajectory.
He now joins City as one of the most expensive teenage players in Premier League history aged just 18, with the club betting heavily on his potential at the highest level.
