Casablanca – A Moroccan minor hid beneath the bus carrying the Real Valladolid squad after the Spanish second-division side left Ceuta following its match against the local team.
According to AFP, the teenager concealed himself near the rear wheels of the bus and remained there throughout the ferry crossing from the occupied Moroccan city to mainland Spain before continuing the journey by road.
Valladolid’s players noticed unusual noises coming from beneath the vehicle several kilometers into their return journey early Monday morning.
The team stopped at a service area, where the players discovered the minor positioned around the rear axle.
He had remained hidden throughout the ferry journey and for more than 100 kilometers on the Spanish mainland before eventually asking for help.
Members of the Valladolid delegation provided him with food, water, and clothing while waiting for the Civil Guard to arrive.
The officers took charge of the teenager, allowing the Valladolid squad to resume its journey to the central Spanish city.
The incident occurred after Valladolid faced Ceuta in a Spanish second-division fixture on Sunday, with the match ending in a 1-1 draw.
Attempts by migrants to leave Ceuta for mainland Spain by concealing themselves inside or beneath vehicles have occurred previously, as the occupied city remains a major point of passage toward the Spanish mainland.
Ceuta has faced heightened migration pressure in recent months, including a large influx of migrants from Morocco in late July. Thousands reached the city during the episode, while many others later returned to Morocco.
