Agadir – Morocco recorded 60,908 new registrations in the commercial register for new companies during the first seven months of 2026, according to the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC).
“At the end of the first seven months of 2026, 60,908 new companies were registered in the commercial register in Morocco,” OMPIC announced today.
The figures show that legal entities accounted for 45,898 of the newly registered businesses, representing 75% of the total. Natural persons meanwhile represented the remaining 15,010 registrations, or 25%.
Among legal structures, the single-member limited liability company (SARL AU) remained the most common choice, accounting for 65% of registrations. Limited liability companies (SARL) followed with 33.9%.
Casablanca-Settat led the country in new corporate business registrations, representing 39.3% of the national total.
Rabat-Sale-Kenitra ranked second with 14.5%, followed by Marrakech-Safi with 12.3% and Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima with 10.8%.

Together, the four regions accounted for 76.9% of all newly created legal entities during the January-July period.
Trade represented the largest share of activities among newly registered legal entities, at 27.22%. Construction and real estate activities followed with 25.28%, while various services accounted for 20.03%.
Transport represented 7.63% of new legal entities, while industry accounted for 6.3%.
The regional distribution differed among businesses registered by natural persons. Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima ranked first, accounting for 20.6% of registrations, followed by Casablanca-Settat at 13.2% and Rabat-Sale-Kenitra at 10.7%.
OMPIC also issued 77,883 trade names, known as negative certificates, between January and July 2026.
Negative certificates allow applicants to reserve a proposed business name before completing the company registration process.
