Casablanca – Abu Dhabi Dates Exhibition 2026 brought together international delegations, producers, farmers and specialists in the date palm sector as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation and exchange expertise in agriculture and food security.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, received the participating delegations at the Presidential Court today.
The meeting took place as part of the 12th edition of the exhibition, which the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation organizes in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority and ADNEC Group.
The exhibition forms part of World Food Week activities at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, ADNEC.
Sheikh Nahyan welcomed the delegations and expressed his pleasure at their participation in the event in the UAE. He also stressed the importance of international events that bring together institutions and professionals working in date palm cultivation, agriculture and food security.
The meeting brought together Professor Abdulwahab Al Bukhari Zayed, Secretary-General of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, and Dr. AbdulHakim Elwaer, FAO Regional Representative for the Near East and North Africa, along with officials and representatives from the participating delegations.
The visiting delegates thanked Sheikh Nahyan for the reception and praised the UAE’s hospitality and organization. They said the organizers had provided an environment that supported their participation and created opportunities for communication and knowledge exchange from their arrival in the country.
The delegations also expressed their appreciation for the UAE’s continued attention to date palm development and agricultural innovation, as well as initiatives focused on food security, sustainability and international cooperation.
The 2026 exhibition provides a platform for producers, farmers, researchers, manufacturers, traders and specialists to meet and exchange knowledge. It also gives participants an opportunity to present new products, technologies and innovations linked to the date palm sector.
The event comes as countries and institutions continue to share expertise around agricultural production and food security, with date palm cultivation forming a key part of the exhibition’s focus.
