Agadir – Morocco is expected to experience thunderstorms and showers today as temperatures rise in some northern and central areas and decline elsewhere, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM).
The Moroccan weather authority’s forecast calls for localized thunderstorms over the Atlas and Rif mountains, the eastern areas, and the eastern parts of the Sahara provinces.
Dense cloud cover will also affect the interior plains, northern parts of the eastern region, and the Southeast, with showers and a risk of thunderstorms.
Moderate wind gusts are expected along the southern and southeastern coasts.
Minimum temperatures will range between 7 and 12 degrees Celsius in the Atlas, 12 and 16°C across the eastern High Plateaus, the Rif, and the eastern areas of the Atlas, and 17 to 22°C in other parts of the country.
Temperatures are expected to rise across the northern interior plains, Saiss, Tadla plains, and the interior of the southern provinces, while they are forecast to fall elsewhere.
In major cities, temperatures are expected to range from 18 to 25°C in Rabat, 20 to 24°C in Casablanca, 17 to 27°C in Marrakech, 17 to 25°C in Meknes, 18 to 26°C in Fez, and 19 to 25°C in Agadir.
Laayoune is expected to record temperatures between 18 and 30°C, while Es-Semara could see highs of 32°C. Ifrane will remain among the coolest locations, with temperatures ranging from 10 to 19°C.
Regarding maritime conditions, the Mediterranean is expected to remain calm to slightly rough, as will waters north of Mehdia and between Tarfaya and Boujdour. The Strait of Gibraltar will remain calm, while sea conditions will be slightly rough to occasionally rough elsewhere.
