Rabat – Royal Air Maroc (RAM) will launch a direct air route between Casablanca and Essaouira on November 1.
Royal Air Maroc’s flight, available from MAD 800 for a round trip, will operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays.
The new flight is part of an agreement between the national carrier and the Marrakech-Safi region.
Starting November 1, the flight will depart from Casablanca at 4 p.m. on Wednesdays and arrive at 5:20 p.m. The Sunday flight will leave at 8:20 a.m. and land at 9:40 a.m.
From Essaouira, the Wednesday flight will depart at 6 p.m., with the arrival time estimated at 7:20 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Sunday flight will leave at 10:20 a.m. and will arrive at 11:40 a.m.
Now, with this flight, Casablanca’s hub will connect Essaouira to the airline’s network of 86 international destinations.
The same goes for Essaouira, which continues to attract millions of tourists, especially in the summer and throughout the year.
Essaouira, whose medina has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001, is also home to the Gnaoua Festival – one of the largest international events.
Moroccan news outlet Le360 quoted Hamid Addou, CEO of RAM, who emphasized the importance of the flight launch, stating that this new service is in line with the airline’s mission to promote Moroccan tourism internationally and facilitate mobility within Morocco.
The route, which he said is part of the airline’s commitment to bringing regions closer together and meeting the expectations of travelers, will bring RAM’s domestic network to 28 routes.
