Marrakech – The production company “JE Films” has just announced the highly anticipated release of the Moroccan film “TRIPLE A,” directed by Jihane El Bahhar.

Set to hit Moroccan theaters on September 11, this film is part of a national cinematic tour designed to showcase this exceptional work to Moroccan audiences.

“TRIPLE A” is a dark comedy-drama that dives into sensitive social issues with a sharp wit.

It weaves together the lives of marginalized characters striving to chase their dreams despite the odds.

With its unique blend of drama and comedy, the film balances intense themes while narrating three intersecting love stories of the overlooked and underestimated.

Starring in this cinematic gem are the brilliant Majdouline Idrissi, comedy sensation Aziz Dadas, and the talented Hind Benjbara, Khalil Oubaqqa, Fatima Zahra Bennacer, and Abdelatif Chaouqi, alongside a larger host of Morocco’s finest actors.

With such a star-studded cast, this movie promises a performance-packed experience you won’t want to miss.

Director and screenwriter El Bahhar, in collaboration with writer Nadia Kamali Marwazi, have crafted a film that masterfully blends drama and dark comedy for a truly distinctive touch.

Drawing inspiration from real-life characters and stories, they’ve infused the script with poetic passages from Lebanese-American writer Khalil Gibran’s “The Prophet,” adding a layer of love and humanity to their cinematic creation.

Filmed during the COVID lockdown, “TRIPLE A” faced its share of production and logistical hurdles.

Yet, against the odds, the team delivered a high-quality film that has garnered international acclaim.

The movie won the Best Foreign Film award at the Soho International Film Festival in the U.S., the Audience Award at the Maghreb Film Festival in Haarlem, as well as the Jury Prize at the Naples International Film Festival. It was also in the running of the official film selection for the 77th Salerno Film Festival and the 2023 Marrakech International Film Festival.

El Bahhar, a leading light in Moroccan cinema, hails from Casablanca and has a rich background in television as a writer and director.

With extensive training both in Morocco and abroad in key filmmaking disciplines, she made her debut in 2006 with the acclaimed short film “Shift+Supp,” which won several awards, including Best Screenplay at the 8th International Beirut Film Festival.
